We are a family-owned theatre in the town of Garberville, CA. Our theatre has been a part of our small community for 75 years this August. It is one of the very few remaining single-screen theatres in northern California that still retains much of it's original atmosphere and charm.
We offer first-run Hollywood movies, host speakers and events, present concerts, and with our new sound system, we can really rock you out! Local schools hold their rehearsals here and put on plays, so we have had many of our young drama students on our stage at one time or another in their lives. Our local community credit union holds their annual membership meetings here, with members seeing the movie free. It is always fun to fill up the house with our community members.
Over the years we've enjoyed numerous concerts, from NPK to David Lindley, the Gospel Hummingbirds, and many more. Having George Winston with his piano on our stage was a real treat!
Our snack bar features delicious organic popcorn, offered with real butter or spices of your choice, and our varied mix of sweets, ice creams, and refreshments are sure to satisfy almost any taste. Our staff consists mostly of youth from the community, for most it is their first job, and we really enjoy working together. We consider all of our staff to be family, and care about each other as if we are.
Owners Chris and Brigette Brannan show their tenacity by keeping the theatre up and running, as the costs of operating a movie theatre can be quite high. Their love of the community, and their persistance in keeping it open are apparent in all they do.
We invite you to explore our web site, attend a show, enjoy the popcorn, and return often.
Thanks!
